Michael J. Stephens

ASHI Certified Inspector

Mr. Stephens has over 35 years experience in the construction industry and owned his own construction company which built homes in northern Virginia. He is a Virginia State Certified Home Inspector, Maryland Licensed Inspector, and ASHI Certified Inspector. He is a founder and a past officer of the Custom Builders Council of the NVBIA (Northern Virginia Building Industry Association), where he chaired the committee to establish the bylaws and code of ethics.

He is an Affiliate member of NVAR (Northern Virginia Association of Realtors), is the past President of the Northern Virginia Chapter of ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors), is a member of the National Board of Directors of ASHI, and he was a founding officer of VAREI (Virginia Assoc. of Real Estate Inspectors).

He lectures frequently at continuing professional education sessions for other home inspectors on topics such as pre-drywall inspections, residential moisture management, foundations and structures, and other topics related to home inspections.
